A Total Mom Moment
I had a total mom moment this morning. I was trying to feed Maddie real quick so I could get out the door on time to meet up with Jake. But Maddie was crying, no, not crying, screaming. Sierra was also crying too - I don't know why - maybe she was tired. Well, I decided that Maddie was crying because she needed to burp, so I burped her. She did indeed need to burp - a very huge burp followed by spit up/milk all over my shirt. Of course, the burp rag was right there on the table, but I was too lazy to put it over my shoulder. So then I had a gross shirt and two crying kids..... I did make it out the door on time, and no, I didn't change my shirt.

Three Amigas
Lately, we have been going on morning walks. Maddie in the wrap, and Sierra in the stroller. Sometimes I let Sierra walk, if she needs to get out some energy. Our walk is about a mile long, then we come home, let the dogs outside and the six of us hang out outside until lunch time. I really enjoy my mornings (after the morning rush of eating and getting dressed and out the door before it gets too hot).

First Day Alone
Well, today is my first day alone without any help. So far so good. I managed to get Sierra bathed, fed and dressed, myself fed and dressed and Maddie fed and dressed (and back to sleep) by 9:30 this morning. Yeah!!! Then we went outside to play and even took a little walk. I even got both of them to nap at the same time - so I went outside and weeded my garden! I love it when the house is quiet and nobody is crying. But the day is only half way over.....

Pictures!
Man, I have forgotten how much time you have to spend holding newborns. It's like an all day thing. They sure are cute and tiny, but time consuming. I think we are managing it though. Here are a few more pictures.
Maddie in my wrap. I bought this wrap to put her in so I could have my hands free. We both love it. Everytime I put her in it she falls asleep instantly. It is usually a pretty deep sleep too, so I can transfer her onto the bed to get some stuff done. She is actually in it right now while I am blogging.
Jake really likes this one. It is funny how you can put them in different positions and it changes how they look.
I think she looks cute when her shoulders are scrunched up and it makes her face look fat. Cute cheeks.
Not our best picture, but I still like it.

Caught Up
I have finally updated my blogs. I have been meaning to do a bunch of blogs, but then Madison came and I had to blog her first. So now, I am finally all caught up.

Swimming
Sierra went swimming for the first time in her new swimming pool. Well, she didn't actually get in, but she still had fun. She played in the water for hours. Eventually, the dogs discovered there was water in the pool so they helped themselves to the water. Sierra thought it was cool that they were lapping up the water, so she tried it out. It was funny watching her imitating the dogs.

Madison Lila Schall
Madison Lila Schall was born on Friday, June 8 2007. She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz, 20 3/4 in. long. Labor was short, only 5 hours, but it was very intense. If Jake hadn't been on top of things - pushing me out the door to get to the birth center, we could have had this baby somewhere on the interstate. I thought we had plenty of time to get to the birth center, but when we got there, I was already dialated to a 9!!!! We were only at the birth center for an hour and a half before Madison was born. Boy, am I glad that is over. We are all healthy and enjoying life with a new baby. So much to relearn.

Jenny the Mule
The other day Tami and I came home from shopping and Jenny, the neighbors mule, was in our yard eating the long grass. I was going to try to scare her away but the closer I got, the bigger she got. We ended up just going to get Jake's new best friend, the farmer, to come and get her. She walked through our garden and left really deep hoof prints. It was an exciting day.
